Résumé

The nowadays interaction between the contemporary Algerian novel and the dimensions that shape the social identity is controversial. This interaction is a combination of the imaginary aspect of text building and the socio-cultural one. Indeed, this has opened the door to a new and creative kind of intermingling, which is reflected by the narrative structure. Therefore, it has a deep effect on the formation of the contemporary Algerian novel. Consequently, this led us to inquire the relationship established between the novel and the cultural identity of the Algerian society in Wassini Laredj’s novel “The Butterfly’s Kingdom”. It is imperative to state that our focus is on the language role of this novel by shedding light on the different interactions of the cultural identity.
