الخطاب المقاوم للكلونيالية في رواية سهم الله لتشينوا أتشيبي
Résumé
The novel, in post-colonial contexts, has sought to break barriers and transcend the narrow view that reduces it to a mere tool for reader entertainment. Instead, it has become a means to resist the Western cultural wave, which has often been cloaked in the guise of civilization, modernization, and identity dialogue to further hegemonic projects. As a cultural product, the novel has succeeded in deconstructing the stereotypical image propagated by the narratives of the center. This is exemplified in Chinua Achebe's novel Arrow of God, where the author attempts to shatter the stereotype of the "Other"—particularly the African—as an inferior being of a secondary status. The novel captures the fierce struggle between the marginalized indigenous people and the supremacist whites. In this regard, this research paper aims to delve into the practices employed by the center to establish its dominance and to uncover the mechanisms through which the novel works to establish the identity of the indigenous people and refute the central narrative.
