منطق العجيب في نوادر البخلاء للجاحظ
Résumé
This study focuses on the anecdotes published in "The Miserly" by Al-Jahiz, the renowned Arab writer known for his humorous and satirical works. The study first explores the concept of the "strange/odd" in Al-Jahiz's writings, and its link to the strange in the old Arabic literature. Secondly, the study analyzes Al-Jahiz's logic of the strange by examining themes characterized by conflict, contradiction, and intertwining. The findings indicate that the concept of the "odd" includes both humorous and serious matters. The study also highlights the significance of the concept of "contrast" which goes beyond the literary expression in narrative and discourse contexts, extending into the persuasive and argumentative role it plays in depicting the ugly miserly characters. This enabled Al-Jahiz to form an attitude towards the miserly and to see it in the context of an ideological conflict between this group of people and the society.
