Résumé

 It is established that the category of literary genre has undergone a noticeable decline, as the theory of genre purity started to disappear, and be replaced by new terms, such as intertextuality and genre overlap.

Moreover, the present research paper aims to question the postmodern narrative discourse, specifically in the novel “Laëzza” by the Algerian writer Mohamed Dib to unravel the manifestations of genre overlapping, monitor intertextuality and texts overlapping, in addition to seeking to understand the motives and artistic and thematic goals.
