Résumé


Whenever Ghassan Kafani’s name is brought up, a parade of  his prominent novels and stories comes to mind, including Men in the Sun (1963), Returning to Haifa (1970), The Land of the Sad Oranges (1962), Umm Sa’d 1969, and All That’s Left to You (1966), etc. However, his theatrical plays tend to be overlooked and forgotten and they lack their due critical attention. One of  these plays is (The Hat and the Prophet) with which this research deals in order to shed light on its artistic and intellectual dimensions, as well as to probethe subject of alienation which is one of its main themes
