Résumé

As one of the most significant issues in textual linguistics, Context theory plays a dynamic role in text coherence. This is achieved by referring the text to the network of semantic relations in the outer world and by examining how the meanings in the text are connected based on their positions. As one of the dimensions of coherence, context-based perspective is based on the analysis of how meaning is disseminated in the elements of the text and it explains the interaction of the text with larger semantic structures which include ideological, cultural and social dimensions to present the integrated text system. Due to its thematic unity and artistic potential, in addition, due to the religious and cultural heritage of the Abbasid era, the "Alawiat" odes of Ibn abi al-Hadid, is considered suitable for examining the context. Based on the fact, we have selected the sixth ode from the collection, which is the longest and the most famous ode, and we have examined the function of context in the coherence of the ode, in the  two parts: lexical part (phoneme, morpheme, syntax and lexeme levels) and non-lexical (intellectual, emotional and cultural levels). Then, we continued the research via presenting sample verses based on descriptive-analytical method.

Based on the studies, it was concluded that the sixth ode has a coherent and solid texture; its elements are inextricably linked with the context. Praise, as the main subject of the text, influences the way words are selected and is responsible for propagation of the meanings from the beginning of the poem to the end. In addition, the connection of this verbal event (the same text) with the thoughts and ideas of the poet and his commitment to religious and cultural heritage influences the selection of strategies appropriate to the situation and reveals the unspoken words of the text and helps to better understand it.
