Résumé

This study tries to highlight the problem of the translation of Sufi terms from Arabic into French, this kind of translation is generally confronted with linguistic, cultural and religious constraints. Sufi terms are generally inspired by an overly subtle essence to define them in an established and univocal etymology. This is how the translator is invited to modulate the terms and expressions of a religious and hagiographic nature in the target language.
