Résumé

Proverbs is one of the main parts of literature, and is one of the oldest melodic sentences derived from the experience and life of the past of any nation, and well reflects the customs, beliefs and culture of any society Thus, examining them from different angles reveals the hidden angles of each culture. One of these matters is the emergence of different moral values in proverbs In fact, proverbs, because of their high educational and moral value, can be the headline of human educational programs, and the moral value of this precious heritage should not be overlooked Due to the fact that continuous ethics has a high status in both Arabic and Persian cultures, and has been reflected in many proverbs, and many symbols have been used to express these ethics This research, which is done by descriptive-analytical method, intends to extract these symbols by examining Arabic and Persian proverbs. Moral symbols are divided into three categories: animal, natural and human. Among these, animal symbols have the most abundance and symbols such as lion, dog, rooster and hawk in both cultures symbolize common moral virtues, and peacock, wolf, donkey and cow are common symbols of moral vices, and symbols such as crocodile, ostrich, cuckoo, butterfly, fox and scorpion only in culture Arabic is known as a symbol of moral vice.
