Résumé
This critical study entitled “Characteristics of FeminineBody in the Short Story Collection ‘Raihana’ by Mohammed Abdulwali: A Semiotic Study”.
The study is built on monitoring the specific connotations of the feminine-body characteristics in the varied narrative contexts in the short story collection “Raihana”. These features form a remarkable phenomenon in the collection, and are reflected as a dominant linguistic, visual and semantic structure. They appear within a group of technical standards and cultural and objective conceptions causing an impact on the perception, feelings and imagination.
Practically, the study finds out three major characteristic features of the feminine-body. Firstly, the body as a symbol of fascination which is a deep structural component in the collection. It gets its presence through the widened circle of the concentrated structural, semantic and visual forms. Secondly, the body as a symbol of desire.
