JMES is now indexed in Scopus!
We are delighted to announce that, since 3 March 2026, "Journal of Materials and Engineering Structures" (JMES) has been officially accepted for indexing in Scopus, the world’s largest database of scientific citations and academic abstracts. The Scopus journal evaluation team concluded that JMES has a clear research identity. Yes, this is excellent news! Indexation in Scopus is a mark of quality and international visibility for a scientific journal. Today, we can say that Mouloud Mammeri University of Tizi Ouzou can be proud to have a world-class scientific journal in the field of engineering sciences, meeting international standards. This major milestone is a testament to our strong editorial ethics, the scientific rigour of the articles published, and the commitment of our editorial team, our reviewers and our authors. Indexing in Scopus will enhance the global visibility of our authors’ work, as the published articles will be accessible to and cited by researchers worldwide. It also represents international recognition, as this indexing ensures that JMES meets the highest international standards of academic quality. For our authors, the direct impact of this recognition is that their publications will now contribute directly to improving their personal research metrics (H-index, etc.) and the ranking metrics of their respective research institutions. Of course, behind this success lie thousands of hours of work, a great deal of skill and the sacrifices that were necessary to maintain JMES at a level of quality that meets international standards. It is true that this long journey has not been plain sailing. We have experienced moments of satisfaction as well as moments of doubt and self-reflection. But beyond these ‘indexing criteria’ and ‘editorial rigour’, the real secret to JMES’s success is, above all, a story of friendship and a human adventure, which has built this project around a shared goal, moving forward in a methodical and determined manner. Science is demanding, but friendship makes it more accessible. We consider this recognition by Scopus to mark the start of a new phase, focused on scientific excellence and international influence. We are aware of the responsibilities and tasks that lie ahead in order to maintain the highly demanding and constantly evolving international standards to which we intend to align JMES. We remain committed to upholding JMES’s reputation and scientific credibility. To gain a better understanding of how far we have come since 2014, we invite you to read the history of JMES by following this link: https://revue.ummto.dz/index.php/JMES/about/history This is therefore an opportunity to express our heartfelt thanks to the many people who have contributed, directly or indirectly, to this success: - The JMES editorial board, which has always been there to support us, - The associate editors, and in particular Dr Samir TIACHACHT, for their help and commitment, - The technical staff involved in logistical support (server management and proofreading), - The reviewers who have given their time to assess the papers submitted to JMES, - The authors for their trust in sharing their research through JMES, - Colleagues and friends in the academic community for their encouragement.
